Still going.
Jun. 22nd, 2011 12:08 amA lot has been happening but I've had so little time.
I had a preliminary interview two Saturdays ago, which produced a full interview this afternoon. Really interesting opportunity and I should hear more soon.
Existing job has kept me busy, in fact I spent 45 minutes from 10:45 P.M. until 11:30 P.M. tonight doing some work that I needed to have for some upgrades beginning at 09:00 tomorrow.
This past weekend rocked in a major way. Friday evening was some shopping in which I acquired six articles of clothing - four skirts and two dresses. Saturday was getting my nails done (OPI "Girls Just Want To Play" red color) and some more shopping mostly for WR, though I got a pair of strappy shoes that are like my tall slingback espadrilles but with less platform*, a nifty wood, shell (I think, could be synthetic though) and cord necklace, and a wood hair stick barrette. That evening we went out to dinner with a local couple who I've known online for a while but we'd not before managed to meet. We were so enjoying talking that we spent a long time after dinner doing so. It's great to know more awesome folks in the area!
While out Saturday I suggested (via txt messages) to my parents that we meet up for lunch on Sunday for Father's Day. I tried to get them to select a restaurant but they refused, so I picked a nice place in Chapel Hill called 411 West, which is a bit less casual than the usual places we'd go. I decided to dress up a bit, wearing one of the dresses I bought on Friday - a "short" (few inches above my knees) red dress with cream crochet lace for the upper back and straps, my never-before-worn-out tan 4" cone heels, and the necklace and barrette mentioned before, plus carried my cards and phone in a wristlet.
Those of you who recall where I was months or more ago WRT clothing will probably already notice this...it was a big thing for me to wear that yet wasn't at the same time! I was quite comfortable with doing so. If you'd told me even a few months ago that I would have worn that before spring was out? I'd have laughed and never believed it. Now I'm happy I have.
After that it was back home. WR had to go to work and I changed to jeans, t-shirt, and my riding boots to go off for some riding with a girlfriend and another rider I'd not met before but am pleased to know.
Tonight I met WR for dinner then went to the Bulls game and enjoyed some badly needed girl-talk with the woman who has the season ticket for the adjacent seat. It was a bit smoky here today as the winds brought wildfire smoke to the region.
* The existing ones are light blue and white checkerboard peep-toe slingbacks, 4.5" at the heel with 1.5" platform (and have garnered me a good number of comments about them being cute and envy that I can walk in them.) The new ones are strappy black with the same heel height but half an inch platform.
