Slight update

IMHO, the messages have been a great example of directly stating one thing then all but directly negating it. One sentence saying the target date is still on followed by a dozen that suggest it "might" not be possible. Basically, they've done very little of what they must do.

Hmm, maybe there is. If you haven't already, maybe try a quick consult with an HR/employment lawyer or consultant?
The reason I mention this? If you were in my jurisdiction, there are definitely a few things you could do (in practical and/or legal ways), but I dunno about NC.
