(I realized now that I've seen this that you might have thought I was aiming my comment elsewhere at you. Sorry!! As I said on Twitter, posting a link is about the poster's feelings and desire to share. Someone sending it to me *personally* felt like a commentary on my sex life. It's the difference between sharing what resonates with you and giving advice to someone else. ...and for the record, once I've opened that line of inquiry with a trusted friend I do not have this reaction, either. The person who did it is an acquaintance at best, NOT someone with whom my sex life has ever before been mentioned.)
The poem is in fact beautifully written and intended to be sweet and romantic.
I did not think that, dear! The way you said it there made it absolutely clear to me that you had received it through other means; someone who was sending it to you because of your relationship. I know that is very different then you seeing it here where I have posted it saying that I found its words to be very powerful.
I'm also sorry you had to experience that as it can easily add a cutting edge to words that shouldn't have had it in the first place.
