Two months.
Jun. 8th, 2011 05:59 pmOr 61 days. Or 1468 hours. But who's counting?
Two months ago I walked out of work and ceased having to wear that mask I had for so long. I wore it for over 36 years, at times I wasn't sure where I ended and it began, and at some points I would have denied I was wearing it as the alternative was just too difficult for me to accept, but by that day it was so uncomfortable to wear that I painfully felt every point where it touched me.
I came home (to the apartment we then had in south Durham) and we set about dealing with the remains of that. I was only too happy to dispose of so many of the sports bras I had. I had begun wearing them in August of last year for needed support when on my motorcycle and continued until April to hide my breasts before I socially transitioned. I can say for certain that they do not provide comfortable, day-long wear.
