Couple things...
Mar. 27th, 2011 01:02 amSo, I managed to light a fire under HR on Friday after all. Advising them that I had filed the notice of name change did it; apparently, for them that sets a hard-and-fast deadline. Go fig shrug!
For the next part, I will say up front that photos will be forthcoming, probably later Sunday.
Today was a long day of necessary shopping for me. To be brief, before this I had: a mess of t-shirts, a bunch of Land's End mesh polos (work shirts,) and jeans that were really a few sizes too big, all of which did a bang-up job of hiding my figure. In addition, the extent of my footwear was: motorcycle boots and pair of sneakers.
We changed that - a few pairs of jeans, a bunch of tops, and shoes.
windrdr observed that I now have far more shoes than I ever had at any point in the fifteen years we've been together (including the two mentioned above: six pair.) Additionally, I bought a few sweaters to wear over some of the tops, a couple scarves, a purse, and a wallet.
Much of this was from Kohl's, which worked out well as they were doing one of their steep discount, time-limited sales (I think it ended at 1 P.M.)
Shoe buying was a bit of a spectator sport, too. It's apparently prom season so we had the sight of a number of teenagers trying what are probably the tallest heels they've ever worn. Most reminded me of the phrase, "that's not a heel, that's a six-penny nail!!!" What I got was, obviously, far more sensible, though most of the pairs have a bit of a heel.
Pics later, sleep now.
